It's a weekend of hip hop hysteria kicking off at Dance Base with DANCE:FILM 11 and Attention to Detail presenting the ATD Edinburgh BBoy Qualifier 2011. This event will feature 8 of the UK's most respected bboys who will battle and judge the event in ATD's unique one vs one format. Local bboys will also be going head to head to find out who will make it through to the main ATD event at the Leeds ExpoJam this December. Hosted by BBoy Flo (ATD) and with beats supplied by DJ P-Nut, this event is sure to keep the winter chill at bay while we heat up the dance floor. In association with DANCE:FILM’s screening of The Rising Sun on Sunday 13th November at 18.00. For more info, click here
With Iain Gardner, Sunday 13th November, 11.30-13.00, Dance Base, £5, BOOK ONLINE HERE
Iain Gardner worked with choreographer Yuri Korec on 2010's Dresden Tanzplan, creating animated sequences during rehearsals for HABITAT to compliment the performers on stage. In his rambling incomprehensive presentation, Iain examines the historic links between Animation Practice and Dance practice, questioning whether the Dancer and Animator are one and the same.
Sunday 13th November, 13.30, 90 mins, Filmhouse, FREE BUT TICKETED (pick tickets up from Filmhouse box office)
